Ottawa Senators select Timothy Boyle 106th overall

Looking to bolster the defensive depth chart, the Senators used their fourth round pick on a high schooler out of Massachusetts, Timothy Boyle. The 6"1 defenseman also happens to be the younger brother of New York Ranger and reputed Sens killer, Brian Boyle. Coming in at 185 pounds, Boyle could add some extra pounds to his frame, and will have plenty of time to do so, as he has committed to Union College next year.

As a high school player, Boyle joins a fairly select group in Ottawa Senators draft history. The last player to be drafted off a high school team was Brad Peltz in 2009. However, unlike Peltz, Boyle's father never tried to purchase the Senators... why not? Ottawa's previous foray into high school landed Colin Greening in the fifth round, a graduate of Upper Canada College in Toronto. Boyle put up 27 points in 24 games this year and, according to ESPN, was a member of the Cape Cod Whalers who advanced to the National U18 Championships.
