Kleinendorst leaving the Sens organization

The Citizen is reporting that Kurt Kleinendorst is stepping down as head coach of the Binghampton Senators to pursue career opportunities outside of the organization. This is also being reported on twitter by Joy Lindsay.

This is what Bryan Murray had to say:

Kurt is an excellent coach and did a great job for us in his two years behind the bench with Binghamton. In terms of his future, Kurt has made the decision to look at other options outside of the Senators organization.

Whoever takes over the position (and the early name being tossed around is Bingo's assistant coach Steve Stirling) will have some pretty big shoes to fill.

I for one was hoping he would slide nicely into an assistant coaching position in Ottawa after his contract in Binghampton was up, but that is apparently not meant to be.
