Our offense has been sleeping a bit lately and that is not a good thing at this time of the year so here are 3 things that could help our team to become the high-scoring Senators again.
1- Someone should tell Gilroy that it is a good time to show his supposed offensive skills because so far he has either looked L.O.S.T or strange (decision making) in the offensive zone. If it can be counted as offense, he was hitting posts in his early days as a Sen. Lee, on the other hand has improved in every single game he's played for Tampa since the trade. He has been a physical presence at their blueline and has 4 points in 10 games while Gilroy has 1 assist in 10 games and has been playing like a bad UFA. Oh wait...
I've been saying it since the trade was made,, it was a bad one. Lee was finally improving and was overall playing great for us this year, plus the team was 14-0-1 with him in the lineup during his final 15 games as a Sen.
2- What the hell is going on with Sergueï Viktorovitch Gontchar? Can you imagine what this year would have been if Karlsson wasn't having a breakout season? He is supposed to be our quarter back on the Power play but boy he has been playing like a potatoe in that phase of the game putting up just 1 goal and 12 assists for a very thin 13 points throught 67 games. He has however been better at even strenght, posting 2 goals and 19 points.
3- This one is a question: Is it possible for us to 'call up' Silfverberg for the last couple of game of the regular season & the playoffs? I know he said he would come if Ottawa needs him in the playoffs and that is really tempting. Watching that whole Radulov thing, I'm wondering because I definitely think Silfverberg would be a huge upgrade on either Greening on the top line or Klinkhammer on the second. He could be our secret/surprise weapon, providing some much needed offense and maybe not more than that is needed to spark the rest of the team.
