The noon number: Six
6 - The number of starts Craig Anderson has made for the Ottawa Senators in the past 18 days, as of today. As your math skills can tell you, that's one start every three days. That pace is hardly the grind alarmist statements like, "Craig Anderson has started 18 consecutive games!" are so eager to imply. For the more visual among you, here is a beautiful feast for your eyeballs:
It's certainly true that Anderson's play has not been outstanding during the Senators' losing streak. But a simple visual interpretation should put an end to the conversation for everyone except those who want to live in denial. It seems difficult to imagine that overuse is the cause of Anderson's performance slippage when there is a clear, long window for both mental and physical recuperation. Perhaps instead, we should consider that Anderson's level of play (and consequently, his outrageous save percentage) during the Senators' winning streak was unsustainable, and that our expectations for him due to that extended run of excellence were out of sync with the reality of an 82-game season.

Of course
The day you post this is the day Auld gets the start.
Funny how it works
At the beginning of the year, it can be argued that the team was winning despite him. Now that he’s playing better, the team can’t win without him standing on his head. Why can’t we just have both?

While I agree that Craig hasn't been overworked as late
and even though the palm trees and beach are acurate through the time Craig spent in FLA during the All-Star break. The days have been far from palm trees & the beach since the end of the all-star game. – just saying it’s been a little colder than that. The images posted lead the rest of us to believe that a hockey players life is a vacation on off days! lol
Common sense is the most evenly distributed quality in all the world.
Everyone thinks they have enough.
An interesting note
Though I will say that the number of the day should probably either be “4” or “1000”.
He was once called the worst participant Cirque du Soleil ever had.

There isn't any evidence to suggest that goaltender performance slips with 70+ starts
But it never stops people from insisting that it does.
No Consistency
Hes an average NHL goalie that can win or lose a game for you ..
This team, with this “D” ,,,needs a top 5 goalie that wont lose a game for you
On the Blues (any team with a strong D) he would be fine-
But this Sens team cant win with just average goaltending.. Trading for Nabby wont help hopefully that wont happen the game he played against Toronto he looked good
I truly would like to see more Robin
I think he has a chip on his shoulder, and although it sounds crazy, I think he plays better in the NHL than hes playing in the AHL
I agree about Lehner.
He definitely would be one of those guys that appears to be at the stage of his development, where he would flourish in the NHL. I would be saying this even if Anderson was still stealing games for us. I would bring Lehner up and also a couple of other guys as well (if you could have an unlimited roster) and rotate them in to get NHL experience under their belts. I understand trying to win for Alfie, but I think we should be looking to the future at this point. When the SEL is done we should also bring over Zabinajad and get some game time for him as well.
Just my opinion
GO SENS GO GO TEXANS GO
