Senators 2012-2013 - cap team again?

I had a dream - Senators team in 2012-2013 and to make it "reality" I have used capgeek calculator.

If we were a cap team again, after decent showing in the playoffs (I hope), we might look attractive to some free agents. After resigning Karlsson (3 years, one year short of UFA), Foligno (3 years), Kuba (2 years, yes, he had hickups and broken bones, but he has it going with Karlsson, so why ruin it), we would still have some cash available and there may be some great players available this year.

I’d like to sign (and who wouldn't) Zack Parise and Ryan Suter long term if available and willing. I know it is a dream, as at least Z.Parise is likely to resign with Devils before deadline, but R.Suter is more than likely to be available. Actually giving Z.Parise 10-12 years frontloaded, I think would be great deal for both sides. and 6-7 for R.Suter?

After next season we will have Gonchar's 5.5M off the books and it is a little unlikley that Alfie would stay beyond that (my heart bleeds already) or that he would command $5M per season if he decides to stay one more year following an outcry and general madness by the fans, so we would have some wiggle room after that to (re)sign some of our emerging stars...

Here is my Fantasy Ottawa Senators lineup for 2012-2013:

FORWARDS
Zach Parise ($7.500m) / Jason Spezza ($7.000m) / Milan Michalek ($4.333m)
Mika Zibanejad ($1.775m) / Kyle Turris ($1.400m) / Daniel Alfredsson ($4.875m)
Colin Greening ($0.816m) / Zack Smith ($0.700m) / Erik Condra ($0.625m)
Jakob Silfverberg ($0.900m) / Nick Foligno ($1.500m) / Chris Neil ($2.000m)
Bobby Butler ($1.050m)

DEFENSEMEN
Jared Cowen ($1.265m) / Chris Phillips ($3.083m)
Filip Kuba ($2.700m) / Erik Karlsson ($6.300m)
Ryan Suter ($6.000m) / Sergei Gonchar ($5.500m)

GOALTENDERS
Craig Anderson ($3.187m) / Ben Bishop ($0.650m)

SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $63,160,833; BONUSES: $1,275,000
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $1,139,167

Spare $1M is because that is how much change usually is required to make any moves at the trade deadline... Actually, just try calculator, it is pretty interesting, and there great questions: what do we do with Daugavins, O’Brien, Winchester, Carkner, Da Costa, Regin, Gryba? Also so many young guys in the minors who may have a chance...
