Mika Zibanejad's Golden Goal
I just love the exuberance after the goal. Just amazing seeing that explosion of enthusiasm. A great day to be a Sens fan that's for sure. I had been hoping that Z-Bad would come up big in the final, but even this was beyond my expectations.
I love how the play develops. Zibanejad takes a cycle along the boards, swoops in out of nowhere with speed and finishes the game without any hesitation. That is our future right there. I think he just proved Murray wasn't crazy drafting him 6th overall.

Greal goal, great tournament
I think we can all agree now that this was the right choice for his development.
No way
Having a great tournament and scoring the golden goal isn’t going to help his confidence or anything.

Heroic stuff
When Canada got beaten I thought, “OK, the best thing that could happen now is if Z’jad scores the winning goal for the Swedes in heroic fashion”.
It was great that that happened and I cheered loudly. At the same time I already knew that he was a good player playing with his Junior peers. That doesn’t necessarily mean that his game will or won’t translate well into the NHL.
We’ll see how he stacks up against all of the other guys vieing for those coveted top six spots. Now we found out he can play Right Wing as well… another addition to the crowded RW prospect list.
Z-Bad = Hossa
In the post “6 core Sens for the future”, the importance of 4 balanced lines (power forward, play making centre, & shooter) to a championship team is noted. If you do a superficial gap analysis of current core players versus prospects, the lack of power forwards for the future is noticeable. Somebody like Lucic (large), Hossa (medium) & Marchand (small). I think we just found our Hossa. It was a thing of beauty to see the power & skill Z-Bad displayed coming in off the right wing. He was a force in the later half of the game with smart play making and solid hits. The Elite League & the Junior team have done us a favour by playing him on the wing.
he will be a player
Agree that he will be a player to seriously consider for a role in a future championship team, but I wish he would have stayed for 9 games also, so he could show us whether he will be a shooter or a power forward. By the way, what are we going to call him?
Looking at the roster coming out of camp I doubt there was room for him. Odds are if he did come over he would have been taking Z-Bad’s or DaCosta’s spot, so one of those 2 would not have had a chance to play to start the season.
I've got higher hopes for Zibanejad than Silfverberg
At least for the time being. There’s just more pedigree there.
But hey, maybe they’ll both work out and we’ll be absolutely stacked.

It is a real shame
That Turris took #7 – if it were open and he took it, he could be “Silfver Seven”
I hope he shaves his weak-ass moustache
but great goal!

I was there for the goal
and it was a thing of beauty. It was great to see Z-Bad get the goal after having a really great game. The Swedish bench went absolutely nuts.

That was a great moment
Who’s the kid who knocked the puck free for Zibanejad to pick up? Number 12 on Sweden? He looks good, too. Let’s pick him up.
