Has anyone heard anything about the autograph signings at the fan fair?(or anywhere for that matter) All I’ve seen is that details will be released, but it starts tomorrow and I can’t find anything.

Not sure exactly where there will be signature tables

I do know that Cody Hodgson will be signing cards at the Upper Deck table during the Fan Fair, but other than that I’m not aware of any special events.

WITHOUT ME THERE WOULD BE NO VICTORIES!

NO HORN = NO GOAL. IT’S SIMPLE.

NOW GIVE ME MY PINS AND NO ONE GETS HURT.

Exactly!

It’ll be a damned quiet ASG without the horn, people!!!

On that note, given Elliot’s history in Ottawa, I suggest Nightbreak gets some of those carpul tunnel wrist braces… he’s gonna be busy!

Assuming they even wish to use the horn for the games.

NHL runs the show here. We just follow their orders.

And I don’t think my ordinary SBP badge will be enough to get me in. ASG badges won’t be issued until Friday.

Besides, I'm only working until 7:30 and the OCC is open until 10. Might be able to get in after work.

work is overrated

I know that, that doesn't matter, I know you Mr. Rainey, that's what matters. You stole my story.

Rideau Canal

Hopefully it gets cool enough so that they can open the Canal

by I Still Miss Hossa!!! on Jan 25, 2012 12:12 PM EST reply actions

I don't think it's going to happen

The Canal-related events will have to be cancelled. It needs a couple straight nights of solid 20-below weather to be safe for skating, and Ottawa’s not going to get that cold by Friday.

by Peter Raaymakers on Jan 25, 2012 12:13 PM EST up reply actions

Too bad

So those events will go to SBP then?

by I Still Miss Hossa!!! on Jan 25, 2012 12:14 PM EST up reply actions

Maybe...

Not sure. I think they’d probably prefer things to happen near their original venue, which was downtown. I haven’t heard what the contingency plan is.

by Peter Raaymakers on Jan 25, 2012 12:56 PM EST up reply actions

Rink of Dreams, maybe

But the Canal is open right now – though the +3 and rain tomorrow may shut it down for the Night Skate.

It was open on Sunday and people were skating

But the recent rise in temperature can be blamed on all the hot air coming from Toronto.

:(

I love soft players (especially Europeans) that play on the perimeter. Enigmas are awesome. Grit and heart-and-soul are red flags.

Erik Karlsson is better than your favourite player.

Thanks for the Canal update. My wife and I are driving down Friday for the weekend, so I guess our Canal plans are out.

FYI

http://www.canadascapital.gc.ca/places-to-visit/rideau-canal-skateway

They’re pretty good about updating that website with the ice status – linking what sections are open, state of the ice (good, choppy etc) and any other info.

I just saw a guy skate by. Seems to be good to go.

Soylent Greening

I wonder if he’ll get a shot at the fastest skater? Do they include rookies in the “big” events?

The 'A' on Minnesotta Wild winger Dany Heatley's jersey does NOT stand for 'assistant'.
