Silver Nuggets: Borowiecki, Petersson recalled
The Ottawa Senators have made a couple of recalls in anticipation of their extended upcoming road trip, bringing forward Andre Petersson and defenceman Mark Borowiecki up from the Binghamton Senators. Neither will play tonight against the Maple Leafs, but may make their NHL debuts over the next few games.
The Senators have already had three players make their NHL debuts this season: Mike Hoffman (Dec. 23, 2011), David Rundblad (Oct. 11, 2011), and Mika Zibanejad (Oct. 7, 2011). Last season, no less than eight players made NHL debuts with the Senators: Robin Lehner (Oct. 16, 2010), Jim O`Brien (Dec. 31, 2010), Colin Greening (Feb. 1, 2011), Erik Condra (Feb. 15, 2011), Roman Wick (Feb. 25, 2011), Andre Benoit (Feb. 18, 2011), Patrick Wiercioch (March 22, 2011), and Stephane Da Costa (April 2, 2011).
How many more NHL debuts will Senators fans see this season? Time will tell.

Oh good, the Paulrus got a haircut.
He’s going to look sharp for the big game tonight then.
I wonder if he has them trim the Paulrustache?

Anderson AGAIN?!?
understand this is a 4 point game, and after the skaters’ performance last night, it probably called for this. But Auld has to get a start sometime, no?
If the coach has such little confidence in Auld, shouldn’t BMurr be looking for a new backup?
I don't think it has anything to do with confidence in Auld
And everything to do with confidence in how Andy is playing right now. You ride the hot hand.
Agreed...
…but I think they should give Anderson a break soon. He is near the top in games played, minutes played, shots saved, etc etc.
I would play Anderson tonight, ESPECIALLY against the Leafs since they are in the Sens division and close to the Sens points. However, give him a break sometime soon. I love to ride the hot hand, but we can’t wear him out.
as of now
Anderson is outpacing Price, Kiprusoff and Ward for games played and every other starting netminder in the NHL. I know he did 71 games for Colorado two seasons ago – he’s on a 73 game pace now. We’ve played a lot of games in the last while (games in hand speaks to that). I would have rathered we played Auld last night but what do i know. If Auld doesn’t play at all this week, I’m guessing he insulted the Paulrus’ wife, moustache, dog…
Auld should of got the shared assignment on this b2b
auld vs WPG, andy vs TOR
for andy’s sake….
But Auld could be our Doyle Brunson
The hand, not the man it’s named for.

The important thing here is that Z. Smith doesn't give a crap about clean underwear
Silver Seven - The Daniel Alfredsson of Ottawa Senators Blogs
But he looks up to Don Cherry
So he gives a crap about Don Cherry!
I love soft players (especially Europeans) that play on the perimeter. Enigmas are awesome. Grit and heart-and-soul are red flags.
Erik Karlsson is better than your favourite player.

Fun with numbers
Okay, some of you have probably realized I’m a little crazy when it comes to stats and probability.
As evidenced by my calculations yesterday that gave Ottawa a 0.66% chance of being 1st in the league after the Thursday games.
(which is now 0%)
Well, I took the work done on those calculations and threw them at the weekly schedule to sort out the “best odds”:
Most likely game-by-game record: W W W W – 16.4% (yes, I’m off to a fantastic start here – though it’s also the most difficult to get right)
Most likely record for the week: 3-0-1 or 3-1-0 (tied at 18.8%)
Most likely number of points (through any combination of wins and OT/SO losses) : 6 (26.9%)

The most likely numbers do not account for the known result of last nights game
Which is why I was off to a fantastic start, with the game-by-game record already being wrong.
We can still go 3-0 (now 2-0) for the rest of the week to make my other 2 predictions correct!
MTL and WPG games weren't the best of showins by OTT this month
they gotta turn that around tonite…especially by getting shutout last night damnation!
Alfie
Has anyone noticed that since Alfie made that “we don’t have to worry about complacency” comment, the Sens have played two duds in a row?

HE SHOULD SPENT SOME TIME ADJUSTING TO THE NORTH AMERICAN GAME
ALSO, WHY ARE WE YELLING? ARE WE CHANNELLING OUR INNER DON CHERRY?
Not at all!
He’s been playing well. I just thought it was a crazy coincidence
