Sens fan comraderie in Toronto

I've been living in Toronto for the better part of 2 years now, and for all of that time I've been rooming with die hard Leaf's fans. Everywhere I go, I'm bombarded with talk of the Blue and White, and I've actually come to know the team fairly well just to be able to keep up with it all the talk about them.

Am I a fan of hockey? YES

Am I a fan of the Leafs? NO

I AM A SENS FAN

Star-divide

There may be only a few of us in Toronto, but every time I see someone sporting the red, white and black, I always make a point of stopping to chat, because we've got to stay strong in foreign territory. People are always genuinely excited to chat about their favourite team, and it's so refreshing to be able to talk of Erik Karlsson's offensive prowess, and how Zack Smith just doesn't give one ounce of a shit, and have people actually understand who you're talking about.

On that note...

For any Torontonians out there, are any of you assembling to watch the Sens/ Leafs game next Tuesday? it'd be great if we could take over a bar downtown and make our own little pocket of Ottawa fans within Toronto.

Go Sens Go!

Way a go

Good for you man. In Philadelphia or Boston, fans beat up anyone who sounds or looks like a fan of any other team.

I'm usually working during Sens games

but I’ve been told that Grace O’Malley’s at Duncan And Pearl plays Sens games.

I’d love to but I’m out of town. It’d be great to have a silver seven Toronto bar though, or to just try to get together for more games with other fans in exile!

Totally Tempting...

But I’ve already promised to spend the game with my girlfriend’s Leaf Fan brother and Leaf Fan friends. I guess they’re looking forward to the humiliation or something.

That said, I’d love to have a Toronto Silver Seven-ers night somewhere in the future!

Great idea

I live here and am most likely going to go to the game at the ACC, but we certainly have a lot of fans here.

I love soft players (especially Europeans) that play on the perimeter. Enigmas are awesome. Grit and heart-and-soul are red flags.

Erik Karlsson is better than your favourite player.

Ottawa conspiracy

First we take the Toronto jobs. Then we take the Toronto money. Then, we ship it home to Ottawa, inflating the economy, which will lead to more jobs and further investment in the city, making it grow larger, swelling the local fanbase and turning us into the biggest franchise in Ontario.

Then, at the end, there will be jobs in Ottawa and we can all go back there and watch hockey games. At the downtown arena, which they will have built as a “thank you” to us to putting in all these years of sacrifice.

Let's make it happen!

I’ll try to set something up later on in the year with some more warning. Maybe on another Leafs-Sens night, or a saturday night that the leafs aren’t playing so we can guarantee the sens game will be on tv.

You'd think...

…that in Toronto, you could find a bar with Centre Ice that wouldn’t mind putting the Sens on one TV? I managed to find a place like that when I was living in Montreal…

I wonder how many Sens fans it would take at RSB before they put the boys on the big screen?

I would be down

But I have my own dumb hockey to play.

Next time!
