There are different journalists. My opinion of Ottawa journalists is that they don't watch hockey at all. When they fly with the team and go through the [metal detector] at an airport, their bags are filled with beer. You realize right away what these people do when they write about the NHL.
Alex Kovalev talks about Ottawa journalists like Peter Raaymakers. He also had some choice words about Cory Clouston. (translated by Puck Daddy)

I know for a fact that Peter does not watch hockey at all
So I think I have to agree with Kovalev here. Anyone who’s read a Raaycap should as well.

Amazing
I can’t believe how much this guy hates me.

Stop drinking and start watching Alex Kovalev play hockey, I guess

Wasn't his play the cause of most Senators fans drinking?

Luve it!
Garrioch and Brennan have to be the worst duo in hockey journalism. I can only imagine that chubby “Malkin to the Kings” giggling like a maniac when going through the metal detector.
If Charlie Sheen played for the Leafs, the Leafs would be #winning. If LeBron James played for the Cavs, oh wait, he already did that.
But nothing will happen
Hockey writers in Ottawa have it so easy. People will read anything.

Yay to mediocrity!
And yay to the day both of them are given a flying donut and told to f off.
Wouldn’t it be awesome if someone within the Sens, be it Bryan Murray or Tim Murray or Eugene Melnyk, to call out them and a guy like Don Cherry one day. I’d love a letter like Dan Gilbert’s.

You are brilliant
This never even occurred to me, but you know it’s coming. Too bad Garrioch already used up the “It’s not my fault” nickname.

And he tries to make up nicknames for others.
Like Bad Bounces for Elliott. I’d like to see Bruce strap up the pads for $750,000 and see how he does in net.

Awesome quote
Kovalev’s play was mediocre during his time in Ottawa, but some of his quotes were golden. This is a terrific parting shot at the SUN’s fine staple of “writers”. The Citizen produces some inane stuff at times, especially Adami, but they don’t tend to wallow as deep into the mud.
Haha
A great quote.
From what I read of the excerpt on Puck Daddy, Kovalev doesn’t really seem to show (at least in the interview) much insight as to why he himself has been criticised, but his comment about Ottawa sportswriters is golden, and what he says about Clouston corroborates other criticisms of him, so it probably has some basis in fact.
