A Heartfelt Goodbye

As I have already stated quite a few times, I graduated from university this past March with a major in Design Studies. That is my career path, and that path has taken me to my dream job. For the past 4 or so months, I worked as an apprentice under the Swedish wing of a huge design company in Scandanavia and Russia. I worked 6 days a week, usually getting every Friday off to rest and heal the wounds of a work week and a 6-0 Ottawa loss to the Boston Bruins.

I recently was offered a position to work full-time for the company as a Design Editor. I accepted this once-in-a-life opportunity, knowing full well the sacrifices I would need to make. Basically under this job I would work with a team to design everything from wedding dresses to soccer stadiums. My first task was given to me a week ago, designing, creating, and building a multi-sport recreational center in Turku, Finland. I start September 9th, and would assume these duties until December 1st, during this time where I would assume to also live in Turku. Yes, I know, gasp, I have to work in enemy territory. But I have now accepted that make ends meet, you must console with the enemy, example me and Anton. We do not like our respective countries, but we made ourselves happy by Anton playing viciously and blowing Dan Carcillo's brains out, and by me supporting the bear.

What does this all mean? Well, I'll be away from Skelleftea for almost three months, meaning no Skells hockey from me unless I can find so random stream on the internet. And now my life in (cough capitalism cough) work begins. Finland isn't the only country I'm going to under this new job. This company covers Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, and Russia. So I'll be all around the place, but it's doing what I love. I'm actually giddy with excitement over designing a sports center, and maybe one day I can design the new Scotiabank Place, you know, after Daniel Alfredsson buys the team from Eugene Melnyk.

Therefore, I believe I won't have the time to write anymore on Silver Seven Sens. It was a great year, and I loved every part of it. I will miss going to Skelleftea home games for a while, and scouting for all you guys. I still will have my laptop with me, to watch the odd Sens game. What I will miss the game threads, which consumed over me this past year. Since this first assignment needs my full 90% attention, I need to actually start sleeping at night. Unfortunate, but true.

So thank you to everyone who made this ride enjoyable. The main guys at the site, especially, but to everyone as well. If any of you want to talk during the season, I guess I can devote some time to answering any of your questions. E-mail is hlarsson69@yahoo.com. Thanks for all, hope you guys all love David Rundblad this season. 9 goals, 29 assists, bet on it for MNS.

Oh, and for all Arsenal fans out there, I h8-2bu. Cheers.
