Silver Seven Fantasy Hockey League
************ Edit: The league is now full. ************
As some of you may have known, Yahoo! has their fantasy hockey system up and running. So here are the preliminary details:
- Currently a maximum of 20 teams allowed in the league. If there are a few more interested, I'll make another league. I'll try to keep the number balanced, so if there are 32 teams, I'll make two leagues of 16.
- Rosters must have: 2 centres, 2 left wingers, 2 right wingers, 4 defencemen, 2 goalies, 4 bench players. Bench players can be any position.1 injured reserve spot is also available.
- The league is in a head-to-head format, you get 1 "win" for every category you beat your opponent in. There are 10 scoring categories, so a perfect week will result in 10 wins, 0 losses.
- Categories are goals, assists, +/-, power play points, shots on goal, penalty minutes (higher the better), goalie wins, goals against average, save percentage, shutouts. Goalies must play at least 3 games/week.
- Waiver waiting period is two days, all free agent pickups will only show up the next day. Maximum of four moves/week.
- No one is allowed to draft Erik Karlsson but me. Okay just kidding...kind of. :/
- Draft is currently set for 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, 10 September 2011. I changed it to a week later since the first weekend is a long weekend. I know this won't work for everyone, but a weekend afternoon is generally what will work for most people. This can be changed if everyone prefers an alternative. In the end, I will make an executive decision based on the general opinion.
- I would ask that only people who plan to be active and watch their teams the entire season play. Otherwise it ruins it for the rest of us. If interested, email me at the address on my profile here for the link and password.

Can't wait!
I’m the Dirty Puckers
I’ve pre-ranked some players, just in case I can’t make it to the draft. 3pm on a Saturday can get pretty crazy at an ice cream and chocolate store!
This puts me even MORE into a hockey sort of mood…

Put me in, Coach!
I emailed ya Adnan, just waiting to hear back! And if I draft Karlsson first overall, will that lessen my chances of getting in the pool? lol
No, but it will lessen your chances of a championship!

I emailed you Adnan!
I’m excited. But it looks like I’m gonna have to pre-rank too. If you really are considering other dates: Literally any time that’s not the 10th to 14th of September works for me.
Might I also suggest
a max number of goalies one can have?
I don't think that's much of an issue
With only four spares and just four goaltending categories, anyone loading up ridiculously on goalies won’t likely be doing themselves much of a favour.

Last year it was a bit of an issue
If you had a bunch of goalies you were pretty much guaranteed a win in your head-to-head, but last year we counted Games Started and a few other Goalies categories too I think, so with only 4 this year it’ll likely be fine.
I'm down
I love fantasy hockey lol. This is also the first year I’m trying fantasy football too.
Just to clarify
Daily or weekly lineup settings? Not quite clear.
