Derek Smith signs with Flames
The exodus from Binghamton continued today as defenseman Derek Smith signed a two-way deal with the Calgary Flames.
Smith had 54 points in 71 regular season games, good for fourth among AHL blueliners.

I hope the Sens can sign a few more AHL players.
It looks like Robin Lehner’s first full season as the go-to guy in Bingo is going to be more challenging than I expected.
They don't need anymore AHL players.
Forwards are set. D is set. They might sign a depth goalie and other than working on a contract for Bobby Butler, Bryan and Tim Murray can take a break now.

They've got a pretty full roster, I think
Stolen from HFBoards — line combos aren’t accurate but gives an idea:
Locke-Da Costa-Parrish
Hoffman-O`Brien-Petersson
Daugavins-Caporusso-Grant
Cannone-Hamilton-Dziurzynski
Cowick/Lessard
Wiercioch-Gryba
Sweatt-Borowiecki
Conboy-Schira
Lehner
McKenna
And that’s assuming both Cowen and Rundblad make the NHL!

That's the lineup I was pretty much imagining too.
Maybe Locke and Da Costa switch up. The only problem is that Daugavins hasn’t re-signed with the club, and most people say he’s likely going back to Latvia.

If I had to bet
I’d wager he’s heading back home. I have no more knowledge on his situation than you do, but were I in his position, I think that’s what I’d do.
Still, pretty good lineup down there even without him.

Hmm
I must admit, the exodus appeared to me to be greater than it really was. But that’s the benefit of having lots of prospects. It hadn’t looked like Murray had signed many replacements – Parrish, Sweatt and Conboy, I think – but it turns out he really didn’t need to.
