Ottawa Senators take D Jordan Fransoo at 186 overall
With their (as of now) penultimate selection in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, the Ottawa Senators picked North Battleford, Saskatchewan native Jordan Fransoo. The 6'2", 190-pound defenceman spent last season with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the WHL, putting up 6G and 12A in 63GP.
As would befit a native of North Battleford, Fransoo already has a HockeyFights profile page (although it's not as full as it could be). Based on his stats line, he's a decent producer from the point, but the main part of his game sure looks like physicality. He's another solid addition to what is already a very big group of very big defensive prospects, including Jared Cowen (6'5", 227lbs), Ben Blood (6'3", 212 lbs), Michael Sdao (6'4", 221 lbs), Dmitri Megalinski (6'2", 212 lbs, awesome name), and Eric Gryba (6'3", 215 lbs).
That's 37'9" of height and more than a half-ton of defencemen right there, just among those six kids.

Megalinski and Blood?
That’s gotta be the MOST AWESOME DEFENSIVE PAIRING EVER IN HOCKEY.

I really hope Megalinski plays in the NHL
But I don’t think he will. He was drafted way back in 2005.

I thought he wasn't even considered a prospect anymore
Ben Blood is a sweet hockey name, though.
Hockey's Future considers him one
But the prospects of him actually joining the team are slim to nil.
HEY-OH!

Also, doesn't he sound like the perfect Canadian wrestler?
I can just imagine Michael Buffer saying:
“And now, entering the ring, from North Battleford, Saskatchewan … weighing in a 190 lbs and weighing 6 foot 2, the Number 1 Defenceman of the Brandon Wheat Kings, JORRDDDDDDDAAAAANNNNNNNNN FRANSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”
