Binghamton gained only one point during their three game weekend (outscored 13-9 by their opponents) but lucky for Binghamton, Norfolk (who they play tonight) only has a two-point lead for fourth place in the East Division. Robin Lehner was pulled on Friday five after allowing five goals in the second, and Barry Brust played the rest of the week. In Friday's 6-4 loss the Crunch scored five unanswered goals in the second to take the lead, and eventually the win. But Binghamton did put up a fight in the third, out shooting Syracuse 22-7 in that final frame. On Saturday, Binghamton lost to Bridgeport 4-3, while being outplayed by AHL rookie scorer Rhett Rakhshani, Binghamton kept the game close with goals from Patrick Coulombe, Ryan Keller and Roman Wick. On Sunday, Binghamton held a 2-0 lead with two minutes left in the game. Cody Bass and Patrick Coulombe were set to be the game's only goal scorers, but Matt Anderson and Darcy Zajac tied the game and Albany went on to beat Binghamton in the shootout to win 3-2.
Corey Locke was named to the 2010-11 AHL First All-Star Team, and Andre Benoit received 2010-11 AHL Second All-Star Team honours.
ECHL
The ECHL playoffs started yesterday with the eighth-seeded Elmira Jackals going up against the number one seed Greenville Road Warriors. Greenville won game one by a 5-2 score, and game two is Wednesday night in Elmira.

Of all those prospects, none have good nicknames.
Lando is the best so far.
Of course, none can match Ben Blood (right Alfiegirl?)
I can only hope that someday both Blood and Stone play on our team
And score goals together, leading to all sorts of “blood from a stone” jokes.
But Rundblad has a nickname. Don’t people call him MechaKarlsson? Personally, I’m just calling him Round Leaf. Also, apparently Jared Cowen is nicknamed Cow Cow, but I think Ryan vetoed it.
Oh Captain, my Captain!
His real nickname is Magic Number Seven

I like Magic Number Seven
There is only one Karlsson!
Trying to be Erik Karlsson's agent since October, 2010.
That's in Sweden
“Magic number seven” is not a saying over here, though. It’s awkward. Lucky number seven maybe, but I’m sticking with round leaf.
Oh Captain, my Captain!
That's kind of the fun
Round leaf brings to mind Maple Leafs, which is not something I want from our best prospect.

He's MechaKarlsson
I’ll never call him a weak name like “Magic Number Seven”

Well, I hate it
So, there’s your explanation.

You can't use one player's name for another guy's nickname!
That’s awful!
Trying to be Erik Karlsson's agent since October, 2010.
You can do anything you want when you're referencing Godzilla
It’s like a real life Mentos commercial

Whoa Puempel is -33?
I guess Peterborough was bad, but you would think a top 5 NHL prospect would have better numbers than that in junior.
Still, I don’t know much about him. If we miss out on Landeskog and get the #5 pick, would you pick him?
Trying to be Erik Karlsson's agent since October, 2010.
I second this. Great job Crooklyn.
So it looks as if we’re gonna end up with the fourth overall pick. I really have no idea who we are going to take at that point. From all the recent talks on the internet, it looks like it could be one of Couturier, Strome, or Huberdeau, unless Landeskog falls to us. I actually think that Landeskog could easily fall to fourth, in which case I’d think that we would have to take him.
On a seperate note, I had higher hopes for Mike Hoffman this year. I guess the AHL really is a much harder league than the Q.
Hoffman had a slow start to his Junior career as well
mind you, not as slow a start as he’s had in the AHL but i’m sure it’s a bigger adjustment than going from midget to junior. At any rate, i was hoping he’d be great too – he was just a solid all-round player for the Sea Dogs last year. One thing though, he was out-shone by Huberdeau, Z. Phillips and Galiev in the playoffs last year and those three are playing lights out in the Q playoffs this year too.
Oh yeah, because most hockey players are
Have you not seen Gonchar/Anderson/Butler/Condra/Foligno/Leclaire (not to mention the rest of the league including Chara and Ruutu) without their helmets on?
Oh Captain, my Captain!
What about...
Lessard

He is one of the few people I think is uglier than Phaneuf.

Whew…
yep - Lessard is Fugly.
Phaneuf pursued my cousin big-time. She was outta his league but my Aunt and Uncle sure were disappointed.
I...think...Phaneuf...is...alright...looking
Did I read that good?

He's a fighter
I think he looks the part.

Prospect Round-up Day
Hurray! I always look forward to these. Thanks Crooklyn!
I’m disappointed Stone and Wheat Kings were eliminated by Hamilton’s Tigers. But I’m hoping for a Chiefs/Tigers finals now.
