As he is affectionately known in these parts, Bobby Bustler continues to find himself in good positions on the ice to score goals, and he is doing it. 7 goals in 22 games this season has him scoring at a pace of 0.32 goals per game. Over an 82 game schedule, that translates to about 26 goals. However all 7 of those goals have come in a 13 game stint that has him playing with Jason Spezza (finally), and they seem to have some confidence. That rate is 0.53 goals per game, or 44 goals in an 82 game schedule.
NOW, I'm not crazy. I don't expect Bobby Butler to score 44 goals next season, even playing with Jason Spezza. It's clear he's on a bit of a hot streak right now. But is it even realistic to expect 26 goals from the Bust next season? He is older than most prospects, and now that he has played a full pro season, knows what he needs to do in the summer. Injuries are always a factor (to both him and Spezza, and others), but what can we expect from Bobby next year?
