The Ottawa Senators are mired in an eight-game losing streak, but on the plus side, they're playing against the last team they were able to get a win against tonight, the New York Islanders.
Some players I'll be watching tonight:
- Brian Elliott: Will get the start tonight after Robin Lehner had started the previous two games. If he wants to make a statement while getting set for contract negotiations this off-season, he'd better start soon (i.e. tonight).
- Kevin Poulin: With Rick DiPietro out again (seriously), Poulin will likely be expected to carry the load in the Islanders' net for the remainder of the season. He played last game against the Sens and was lit up; what will happen this time?
- Jason Spezza: Makes his return to the lineup tonight. Will it be a triumphant return against the team that traded the pick he was selected with?
- Alex Kovalev: Is on a scorching post-All-Star Break streak, with four points (2G, 2A) in the two games since then. Is it a late-season surge, or just a blip on the radar?
