Was about to post this
I hope for his sake that someone takes him. I can see Ottawa taking either McElhinney or Conklin off the waiver wire as well, just to get Lehner back in the A.

nobody will take him
i don’t understand the move at all.

I don't know
We took Anderson for essentially an extended tryout. Someone might want to do the same for Leclaire. It’s not like he doesn’t have the talent to be a starter.

I'm going to quote Garrioch here
The only option for Leclaire could be finishing the season in Binghamton, that may not be an option either if Ott wants to get Lehner there.
I don’t get it, either, unless the idea is to go with an Anderson-Conklin/McElhinney/random.goalie() tandem. Did we find out why Leclaire didn’t join Binghamton last night?
Here’s the only way I can see it working, assuming Leclaire clears: Murray wants a Brust/Lehner tandem in Binghamton, but wants a goalie in Ottawa who won’t fall apart, thus forcing a callup of Lehner. Get a guy for free on the waiver wire, keep him until the end of the season (Conklin and McElhinney are pending UFAs), and ensure that in all likelihood that nobody gets hurt and every goalie is where management wants them to be. If Anderson or Mystery Goalie get hurt, it’s almost guaranteed that nobody would claim Leclaire on re-entry waivers.

What's the appeal of a Brust/Lehner combo to Murray, though?
We’ve seen the team shuffle Lehner to make sure he’s playing games, and Bingo is clearly Brust’s team now. Seems like Lehner is sitting no matter what league he’s in, so why have him sit in the AHL? Money?

Better than an Anderson/Lehner tandem up here
Lehner will get an odd start, and if Brust falters, he can step in and do what he can.

With the may he's playing
No way in hell Lehner’s playing a playoff game for Brust. Brust is pretty much the reason that team is in the playoff position they’re in now.

You could have said that last year in the Ottawa Senators playoffs; who would have thought Leclaire would have started a few straight games, considering the way Elliott was playing heading in to the playoffs?
Brust is playing some great hockey, but it’s far superior to anything he’s normally done. You’ve got to think it’s more likely that he’ll fall back to Earth than that he’s somehow become an elite, game-stealing AHL goaltender. And if he does stumble, wouldn’t you rather have Lehner there to get an opportunity, rather than Leclaire or Not Martin?

Totally forgot about Not Martin. How quickly they fall.

Exactly
I’m just wondering if that may be the direction Brust is taking, you know? It’s not unusual for a goaltender to have an awesome season. It’s unusual that he can play awesome hockey consistently through a few seasons.

He'd be Elimra's 10th goalie this year

Also, Leclaire was physically injured in the process of being put on waivers

I guess he's being Gerber'd!
At first I thought he was Hasek’d, but it looks like they’re just trying to give him away. Or send him to Binghamton for good.

Reportedly he didn't want to face his old AHl team last night.
Maybe the organization has had it with him and willing to give him away.

I said they should
On Twitter, I literally said they should just tell him to go home. I wonder if they will now, assuming he clears waivers.
