Nikita Filatov called up to Ottawa
Numerous reports are stating that Nikita Filatov has been called up to Ottawa for the game against the Maple Leafs on Sunday night. This would imply that Daniel Alfredsson will not play.

But imagine the opportunity for Filatov!
If he nets a goal or two, or sets up the GWG, fans are gonna love him.
If he doesn't play, does that mean that the Shanahammer will fall on Wolski?
A Goal Horn Haiku
Hoooonk hoooonk honk honk hooooonk
That's the sound the train horn makes
Suck it, Toronto
Hopefully it will anyway.
I’d hate to see injury included as a determining factor for suspensions. A hit to the head isn’t okay as long as someone doesn’t get hurt, as far as I’m concerned.

Not a determining factor
But I think it should be a factor. Maybe add a game or two where the play warrants suspension regardless.
Oh Captain, my Captain!
Hard to imagine who he'd displace once Alfie is healthy

I'm happy for Filatov, but at the same time...
Poor Butler. When’s he gonna get his chance?
He needs to get healthy first
He’s out because of a groin injury right now, not as a scratch.

Butler is skating with the team now
Before yesterday’s game, MacLean said Butler needs a few more practices but he’s healthy enough to play if he had to.
I guess Filatov has been playing some where at least, so that tipped the decision.

I think he's a week to a week and a half out.
He posted on fb last week saying he should be back in two weeks.
Oh Captain, my Captain!
Butler is in too!
I am guessing Konopka is benched/suspended.

Wait no...
Butler is playing, but Filatov is not.

Why would you think Konopka was benched or suspended?? Considering Scott Morrison, Brad May, Bruce Garrioch and Larry Brooks all credible journalists all stated that he didn’t even deserve a penalty and…why would he be benched as a bottom 6 to get Filatov a top 6 into the lineup ?? Makes no sense but you are less than objective I guess…“sens_adnan Adnan@gwplant Okay. I am biased. I don’t like Zenon Konopka. Now get over it. :)”
Konopka's the first forward to get benched, that's why. Nothing to do with the hit yesterday.
So if Filatov and Butler were both in, it’s likely that Konopka’d be out. But it turns out Filatov’s not playing tonight and Konopka’s in the lineup.
Oh Captain, my Captain!
It's official on the Sens website
Begs the question of why he’s not playing then.
