Spezz and stuff

Is it just me or is Jason Spezza auditioning for the leading role of the Senators this year which could be the last for Daniel Alfredsson; Looks like he is trying to prove he can be a great captain too leading by example; I hope he continues in my mind no one but Spezza could be captain after Alfie.

Also just to throw this out there is Nick Foligno ever gonna be anything more I've been waiting for him to become a second-line player forever and don't even get me started on Jim O'Brien him and Brian Lee are the worst 1st round picks in recent memory what was Bryan Murray thinking and that's why he doesn't draft college players anymore.

Muckler not Murray

John Muckler was the one who drafted all three players in foligno, Lee and O’brien. Not Bryan Murray!

Welll....

Actually the only pick of those three that was Murray was O’Brien, but he took over a week before the draft, so none of his staff was in place yet.

Spezza has looked like a captain since last season

When alfie was down he played his best hockey putting up great numbers without much support (no alfie michalek or heatley) making those players around him better even playing loads of PK this year he has continued right where he left off scoring big when the team needs it…very excited for a few more years of this

murray got both da costa and butler from college (undrafted). both were considered to be the top of their pools (although matt read is turning out to be quite the gem)

I agree with both things!

I think Spezza has put himself next in line ever since the Dany fiasco. He handled that like a pro and ever since, has really shown his dedication to this franchise.

In terms of Foligno, I think at this point, he’s a 3rd liner, and I don’t see the type of skills that tell me he would be a good 2nd liner. Problem is, he plays like he is a top 6 guy, always trying to do too much
