The CBC conducted a poll of 318 NHL players, seeking their opinions on a wide variety of topics including coaches, rinks, franchises, and players. The only Ottawa connection was Matt Carkner being voted as one of the toughest players in the NHL, coming in third with 5% of the vote behind enforcers Derek Boogard (23%) and Colton Orr (9%).
