Senators recall Mike Brodeur on emergency basis... again

The Ottawa Senators have recalled goaltender Mike Brodeur on emergency basis to backup Brian Elliott tonight. It's the sixth time this season Brodeur has been recalled.

I dont understand this

And I don’t understand why he was thrown under the bus the other night after playing so few games this year?

Are we not crushing this guy?

Is he just disposable and it doesnt matter if he never regains his confidence?

Seems kind of brutal.

At least he gets more money

He makes $105,000 on AHL contract and $600,000 on his NHL contract. Each day he spends in the NHL, he makes an additional $1,356 a day.

But yeah, can’t be good for confidence.

I think he’s just a victim of circumstance. Brust is playing well, and Lehner needs to play any spare minutes he can get. That makes Not Martin the odd man out, so he’s going to be the cannon fodder, regardless of what it does to his development.

Don't worry about him

Any player would rather be in the NHL rather than the AHL. I also saw Mr. Brodeur out and about on Saturday, the day after he was lit up, and he seemed like he was in a fine mood. So he’s not one to let a bad game ruin his life or his next few days, which is A-OK with me.
