The Ottawa Senators got blown out for the second night in a row, following up a 6-2 loss in Philadelphia on Thursday with a 7-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens at home on Friday. With that said, how about them Blue Jays!? Anyway, here are the news making headlines today:

  • Wayne Scanlan wonders about the whereabouts of Eugene Melnyk. (Citizen)
  • The tables have turned between Montreal and Ottawa from a year ago. Ottawa was in a playoff spot and Montreal was a bubble team. Now, Montreal is still a bubble team but Ottawa has fallen off. (Citizen)

  • Evgeni Nabokov has been claimed on waivers by the New York Islanders. However, it is rumoured that Nabokov will not report, meaning he will either be suspended or placed back on waivers. In any case, if he won't report to the Islanders, he won't report to the Senators. (TSN)
  • Speaking of the Islanders, they won last night. The New Jersey Devils won this afternoon. They sit four and eight points behind the Senators with three and two games in hand respectively. Oh my. (Devils beat Flyers)
