The Ottawa Senators lost once again, for the third time in succession and the ninth time in ten games.  It was also the fifth straight loss at home for the Senators.  The Senators were not a great team with Jason Spezza, but they were starting to turn things around with a 4-1-2 run before Spezza got injured.  Since then the Senators are 1-6-3 and out of the playoffs race.  With that said, here are some Senators news for your reading pleasure:

General Sens News

  • Don Brennan thinks (hopes) the fans will start protesting about the Senators struggles.  Meanwhile, Zack Smith is good, Nick Foligno likes his dad and Mike Brodeur has realised that the road from Ottawa to Binghamton is uphill, which of course makes the return trip downhill. (Sun)
  • Sens Town laments on the Sens lack of success even when playing great.  The Sens are now winless in seven overtime games, and have yet to score a single goal in their three shootout games totalling eight attempts. (Sens Town)
  • Bobby Butler was good last night and here is Cory Clouston talking about him. (pressconnects.com)

General Hockey News

  • The Black Aces looks at the lovable cartoons of the Mighty Ducks.  Who doesn't remember watching D2 as a kid and not grumbling at mean old Team Iceland!? (Black Aces)

  • Eric Staal and Nicklas Lidstrom are the two All-Star captains, while Sidney Crosby is a doubt for the game. (Sun)
