Jared Cowen smiles silently
But seriously, really? Really? Already? Is he related to Sami Salo?
Still better than Meszaros 2010 Edition, I guess.

Gryba/Cowen and Bustler/Wick are the training camp battles to watch in my opinion

Yeah, maybe he'll get to audition for another team

What is with the Sens and knee injuries? Do other teams have the sheer volume of knee injuries the Sens get? Kovy, Spezza, Michalek, Alfie, Kuba, Cowan(I know it was pre-Sens), Fisher all in the last 2 or 3 years.
Fisher has had a couple. He start 08/09 with one. No worries on the nitpicking, now I know in future:)

I see his name on the back of a jersey in my closet a lot
I remember a Fisher injury, too, but he’s played 77+ games in the last three years so it appeared that he was healthier than in seasons prior.

No one's trading for a guy with a knee injury, sorry.

Unless Edmonton wants him in exchange for Souray
Might work, if they put Souray through re-entry waivers first.

the only problem is cap space.
Souray makes 1.7 million more than Kuba.

But if he’s put through re-entry waivers, his cap hit will be $2.7M, and we’ll actually come out smelling like roses. Roses with $1M in extra cap space.

I like the sound of having Souray reuinte with Kovalev on the powerplay
I mean, they were killing it for years on Montreal’s 1st unit, and would make for a hell of a connection on Ottawa’s second.
That's it, buy him out.

He's the new Sami Salo!
Between him and Pascal, we’re going to have to put a ’Caution: Fragile Contents Inside" sign outside SBP.

Who is more likely to get injured from turbulence on flights, Kuba or Leclaire?

Kuba
Leclaire would get a gin and tonic glass to the head and pass out.

It's kind of sad, this news doesn't really bother me at all. I just don't care about Kuba.
(As a player. As a human being, I hope he’s alright.)

Kuba is so much more valuable than people seem to think.

Yeah, he keeps the training staff employed!

Zinger
But seriously, I see what Darren is saying. Although I’d make a minor change and say that Kuba could be so much more valuable that people seem to think, if only he could string together a few games without getting injured.
In objective terms, he’s not close to the league’s best defencemen, but in specific terms of the current structure of the Ottawa Senators blue line, his absence opens up a pretty gaping hole.
