The Senators draft pick curse comes to an end

Congratulations are due to Marian Hossa, the first Ottawa Senators draft pick to go on and (legitimately) win the Stanley Cup.

The Curse is over.

And with that, the 2009-2010 NHL Season comes to an end with a resounding, “Meh…”

This is only marginally better than watching Dan Carcillo hoist the cup.

Agreed, epic playoffs.

The Philly comeback v. Boston, especially game 7, was one of the most compelling things I’ve seen in hockey, in my recent memory. Just incredible.

Cannot play with 'em, cannot win with 'em, cannot coach with 'em. Cant do it.

Way to go Hossa!

I am very happy for Hossa. It is too bad that his contract demands priced him out of Ottawa, but he was accomodating when it came to being traded and the Sens got good value in return(Heatley may have screwed things up here, but it was a fair deal talent-wise). Hossa always playerd hard when he was here and has never said anything bad about the team or city since leaving. Way to go Marian, third time’s a charm!

On top of that the detestable Pronger and Carcillo got to enjoy the ignominy of losing in their own building. What a sweet sight that was! Too bad for the good guys on the team like Carter, Richards, Briere, Gagne, Timonen, but it is hard not to hate any team that Chris Pronger plays on.

BTW, anyone who enjoys watching Team Canada succeed has to like the last couple of finals with young guys like Crosby, Toews and Richards leading their teams to great success. Not to mention strong supporting players like Staal, Fleury, Seabrook, Keith, Carter, and on and on.

Obviously, this must mean the Senators will win next year

Now that the curse is broken, the team with the largest number of Senators draft picks should become champion.

I find zero flaws in your logic.

I’m going to go get a Stanley Cup champs tattoo this weekend.
