Silver Nuggets: Clouston for Jack Adams; prospect playoff update

Here are some Ottawa Senators headlines for today:

  • Jim Kelley makes his case for Cory Clouston to win the Jack Adams award. (Sportsnet)
  • The future is unclear for Binghamton Senators legend Denis Hamel. Hopefully he stays in the organization, because he's loved down there: I'd love to see a contract extension if he keeps playing, or an opening in the front office or coaching staff if he retires. (Sharp)
  • The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds aren't planning to see Robin Lehner back in the OHL next season; they're pretty sure he'll be Binghamton-bound. (Sault Star)
  • Speaking of the B-Sens, they're trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive tonight: They are five points back of Norfolk with three games left. They take on Adirondack tonight.
  • Elmira is in the playoffs, they play game three of their ECHL first-round against Florida tonight. The best-of-five series is currently tied at a game each.
  • Sens prospect Corey Cowick had 2G and 1A in the Ottawa 67's 6-3 victory over St. Mike's. Ottawa now leads the series 3-2, putting them one win away from the OHL's Eastern Conference finals. (Sun)
  • Sens prospect Mike Hoffman and the St. John Sea Dogs are still awaiting their QMJHL semi-final playoff opponent, which will be the winner of the Drummondville-Rimouski quarter-final. Drummondville is up 3-1 in the series now, and game five is tonight.

I don't see how Clouston can win Jack Adams over Tippet.

Not gonna happen.

Kelley doesn’t say he thinks he’d win, I think he’s just pointing out the job he’s done since taking over a team badly in need of coaching stability. There’s no way he would win given how many non-playoff teams from last year made it to the playoffs this year.

Tippett, Sacco, and Trotz are my three

I’ll actually pick Sacco, though. Tippett’s turned a team around, but I think they were a good team underperforming before; whatever Sacco’s doing, he’s got a young team with an unproven goaltender buying into a system.

After those two, it’s a crapshoot, but Trotz should probably be there.

the slump that almost saw the Av's lose their playoff spot will keep Sacco from winning it

ps. it was faulty Flames play near the end that helped the Avs in, not strong Avs play

I am AWESOME! Are you?

I'd have to go with Sacco as well

But Tippett has it locked up. Everyone should be shocked that a decade’s worth of top 10 picks can play well once a structure is implemented!

Jack Adams-Style

Clouston would be the winner if based on style no one can pull off those tone on tone looks like he does and he seem very comfortable with his manhood in all those pastals he wears.

I don’t think anyone can beat Tippett, he had to over come so much, of course he does have the support of the League

Speaking of which.

I did a fantasy draft and used the Rangers (didn’t wanna have Datsyuk, Ovie, and Pronger playing for the Sens).

When I played against Ottawa, Robin Regehr was the captain.

Wasn't much to say

No news on Kovalev. I could have linked to game reviews from last night, would a list of those offer you guys anything you’d like?
