Notes on a Cow

Stay connected for news and updates

Well, I've seen a lot of Jared Cowen since I'm a season ticket holder for the Chiefs. I can't say I have been impressed with  him this season and have been supremely critical of his performance. And I am not the only one.

It was unclear whether or not Cowen was back at full strength when he re-joined the team after a crippling knee injury. Since, he's been inconsistent in play. Which is worrisome considering he was named captain. Often, he played with a timidness and was checked by talent a half foot shorter and 50 pounds lighter. He seemed to forget how large he is and to utilize that. There was the disastrous arrangement that saw Cowen playing in a forward position.  However he did have his moments of being super effective but that was often lost in all the face palming.

It'd be nice for Cowen to turn it around and put in a solid effort. He phoned in a good chunk of the season which is disappointing for a first round draft pick. Let alone any junior hockey team.

I'd be happy if he proved me wrong. I'm wondering if he went further on media hype rather than skill.
