Silver Nuggets: Hasse is impressed; Michalek not ready to return
Headlines for Ottawa Senators gameday against the Ottawa Senators. If you somehow haven't heard, Daniel Alfredsson's 1,000th game with the franchise will be tonight against the Florida Panthers.
- Milan Michalek is not yet ready to return to action. Starting lines will be Regin-Spezza-Alfredsson, Foligno-Fisher-Kovalev, Kelly-Cullen-Shannon, Ruutu-Winchester-Neil (Twitter)
- Pascal Leclaire starts in net tonight. Let's hope he finishes in net, too. (Twitter)
- Despite what some would have you believe, Hasse was impressed with Daniel Alfredsson. (Sun)
- Alfie is "in good company" as a hated man in Leafs Nation. I wouldn't want it any other way. (Toronto Sun)
- Donny looks at Alfie's history of Panther poaching, too. (Litter Box Cats)
- Ottawa ranks 12 in the SBN Power Rankings again; fifth-highest Eastern Conference team. (SB Nation)
- Young correctly points out that with Filip Kuba injured, and besides Anton Volchenkov and Chris Phillips, Chris Campoli has more NHL playoff experience than any other Sens d-man. (Consensus)
- The Binghamton Senators aren't out of the playoffs yet: They're four points behind Norfolk with one game in hand and four games left in the season. They finish out the season with two games against the last-in-the-East Division Adirondack Phantoms, and then a home-and-home against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pens.
- The Elmira Jackals, Ottawa's ECHL affiliate, clinched the East Division title in the American Division. They take on the Florida Everblades (seriously) in the first round of the playoffs, which begin tonight.
- The Ottawa 67's play game four of their second-round series against the Mississauga St. Mike's Majors tonight. Ottawa's up 2-1 in the series, and Sens prospect Corey Cowick has 2G and 1A so far.

Leclaire gets the start!
Well, might as well get him in tonight, Clouston said he was going to get at least one game in before the playoffs.
Thanks for updating, Darren.

Because you fixed the mistakes?
Mark wouldn’t do that. He’d probably make them worse.

LeClaire
Okay, pool on LeClaire goals/ shots. I’m saying 4 goals\15 shots. Clouston pulls him and the exchange looks again.
I say he finishes
Allows a few goals, but finishes the game.

I say he finishes and has a good game
because Clouston kicked the shit outta the rest of the team after their lackluster play against the Islanders.
I am AWESOME! Are you?
Nuggets
Love ’em.
Also, can I say that it actually makes my day when I come to read your blog and you’ve linked in mine? Its such a sweet surprise haha!
Also, I say Leclaire plays a solid one tonight and gets the W
…then again… the Sens record against non-playoff teams is pretty junk

This is probably the best Silver Nuggets headline ever

Out on a limb here, but...
Leclaire with the shutout… who’s with me?
I suppose it's possible, considering the team should be pumped up
But… I doubt it.

yea right
I don’t think Pascal has it in him, I’m sure the players will probably play better but I still think it he’ll be weak. Maybe Pascal and Clouston will get into it if Clouston hooks him again like the FLA player and Coach did today.. HHM in a shoving match I’d take Clouston, Pascal would probably get hurt.
UPDATE: Crooklyn Banks will be at tonight's game
The only more depressing than him going by himself, is that the only Sens game he sees this year is one where the Sens don’t care and one where the Panthers don’t want to win.

You MUST bring a "Hasse is Unimpressed" sign

re: Impressing Hasse
I will point out that at no point in that article did Hasse say he was impressed. He may have been proud of his son, but that doesn’t mean he was in fact impressed.
This is technically true
I just interpreted him saying Alfie had “something special” as an indication that he was impressed. It is possible that he wasn’t/isn’t.

I think if we know anything about Hasse, it's that he's unimpressed.

Kelly and Winchester...
Anyone else think that Kelly and Winchester should change lines? I think putting Kelly with Neil and Rutuu would be much better than the posted lines plus I don’t think Winchester would be too out of place playing with Shannon and Cullen.
Yes
But ideally I’d like to see Million Mikalek in Kelly’s spot and Winchester scratched. Ruutu-Kelly-Neil should not be broken up for any reason.

Grain of salt because it was the Panthers
But how encouraging was that to see?
