What I think the SENS should do for Game 5

I Know this may sound crazy, and i may get ripped on quite a bit for this but i believe this is our best bet at coming back this series.

For Game 5... Your Starting Goalie... Mike Brodeur

You might be thinking wow this guy is crazy right now but lets face it the Sens need something bug to change to come back in this series ( One of these things is the reffing but we all know that.)  But if you look at it back earlier in the year when the Sens were struggling who came in and gave the team confidence and started the big winning streak?.. Mike Brodeur, He was excellent for the Sens and got them going whch is what they need now. Its not like the Sens are getting really outplayed by any means, i believe that they just need some confidence and that would give them a spark and hopefully get them going.

Now, I know most of you will say " No No are you crazy he has no playoff experience!"  True, but I ask you how much experiencce did he have before he played a game with them earlier this Year? Thats right none, and what'd he do? Went 3-0 with a 966 SP and 1.00 GAA.

So this is my argument. Why not play him, Take a chance? Like really, What do we have to lose now anyways?

Something has to change.

Can't say I disagree that much except

I think the organization is still hoping Leclaire can become a good goalie and that would show they have lost all faith in him, it would be hard for Leclaire to come back and succeed here. I think Leclaire’s potential is gone but Bryan Murray won’t give up on that yet, especially for what it cost them.

Also, I still have some faith in Brian Elliott, although not very much.

I don't think the circumstances are the same

The Sens played a lockdown system in front of Not Martin and won. He didn’t give them confidence; he forced them to play a more defensively minded system and they won and built confidence off of that.

On top of that, they had Kovalev and Michalek, and yes, even Kuba in the lineup. And they weren’t facing a stacked team like Pittsburgh. It was Gaborik and no one. The same gameplan won’t work against these guys.

More importantly, goaltending hasn’t been Ottawa’s problem in games 1-3. Poor defensive coverage and missed opportunities are what’s killing the team. I don’t think Not Martin can make our forwards hit the net or the puck trickle through Fleury and Crosby.

My thoughts on what will happen

Elliott will be the starter. Spezza and Clouston are gonna have a pep talk and discuss playing a simple game (no more super duper passes that don`t work).

The team will probably lose as they are low on themselves right now. It won`t be a crazy game like game 4. Pens want to win so they can rest up before round 2. I predict a 4-3 win for Pens.

I really hope I am wrong on the second paragraph, but my gut tells me SBP has seen its last game until September/October.

Prove me wrong Sens. A come back to play 7 games would be amazing and historical, but I don`t see it happening.

I would have been surprised if it happened, but not overly disappointed

None of Elliott, Leclaire, or Brodeur had any playoff experience heading into this season. From that perspective, there’s no difference.

Still, throwing a kid like Brodeur in there now would be such a risk, and would pose such a threat to his development, it seems hasty and reckless. Can’t argue with his numbers, but we need to give Leclaire this chance.

AND LECLAIRE DEFINATELY WAS THE RIGHT CHOICE

A truely Superb Performance by Leclaire tonight, Maybe even series defining/changing?
