Around SBN: Champions League Preview with Jimmy Conrad

Senators defense prospect Jared Cowen has been named to Team WHL, which will compete against Team Russia in the Subway Super Series. This will be his third straight year on the team.

Cowen has 5 points in 6 games this season. He is captain of the Spokane Chiefs, who are currently sitting at the bottom of the U.S. Division.

Good for him

For making Team WHL, that is. I think Murray did the right thing sending Cowen back, but it is tempting to think that he could do a better job than some of the d-men who have been turning out for Sens so far this year.
