Silver Nuggets: Michalek probable for Thursday, goaltending controversy?

  • Apparently Milan Michalek is probable for the Ottawa Senators game on Thursday (Thursdat?) against the St. Louis Blues. Hopefully his comeback is as strong as Daniel Alfredsson's was. (Twitter)
  • Chicago Blackhawks fans are none too happy about last night's loss. (Second City Hockey)
  • Thirsting for a goaltending controversy? Duff from Another Ottawa Senators Blog is trying hard to generate momentum for the next closest thing: A goaltending contraversy. (AOSB)
  • Michael Farber's right: The Sens goaltending is a carousel. Here's a look at Ottawa's starters since just before the lockout: Lalime, Hasek, Emery, Gerber, Emery, Gerber, Auld, Elliott, Leclaire, Elliott, Brodeur, Elliott, future. (SI)
  • The Copper & Blue undertook an interesting experiment: Re-rank previous drafts based on the offence we may be able to expect from forwards drafted in 2008 as well as 2009, and compare their actual with their revised rankings. Sens prospect Mike Hoffman, for one, comes off well: Undrafted in 2008, ranks 16th; drafted 71 overall in 2009, ranks 11th. (C&B)

Star-divide

  • In the AHL All-Star Game last night, Ryan Keller has two goals and an assist as Team Canada beat Team PlanetUSA 10-9. Martin St. Pierre was the B-Sens' other representative in the matchup. (Press & Sun Bulletin)
  • Dallas Stars fans are wondering if Alex Auld should get a shot at number one down there. I remember asking that question. (Defending Big D)

You’re right many ‘Hawks fans are happy with last night’s loss and with me in general after PeterR put it in his pre-game that I said Huet was our weak link (which he is and was again). Thanks Sens’ buddy :)

Happy you guys won as you’ve maybe ended the endless debate as Huet has been demoted as the back-up with Niemi now the full-time starter in Chicago. So with that, thank-you Senators.

It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!
