Alfredsson, Kuba to return tonight

20080112_alfredsson247_medium

The Ottawa Sun reports that both captain Daniel Alfredsson and defensemen Filip Kuba will return for tonight's game against Montreal.  Just one more sign that he is the best captain in the NHL, Alfie's return comes almost two weeks sooner than originally anticipated.

Kuba's return means that Picard is scratched for tonight.  He will play with Matt Carkner, as Clouston has chosen to keep the young guys (Chris Campoli and Erik Karlsson) together after they showed real chemistry in Ottawa's 2-0 win over New York last Thursday.

Mike "Not Martin" Brodeur gets the start in goal, to the surprise of no one.  (Sun)

I knew he was coming back tonight.

There’s apparently some reunion of Frolunda guys in Montreal, his dad’s in town, the steam needs him, he’s got superhuman healing abilities… amazing.

That is weaksauce, dude

Crosby could grow a better beard than that

I don't think it's been too long, has it?

I’ll give him credit for sticking it through, anyway. I remember how embarassed I was through Movember…

Yeah I got me a neckbeard going

It’s got nothing on Classic’s

I had work yesterday so I dropped some of the neckbeard

It’s usually way worse. I kept the beard part. My beard doesn’t get full, it just gets longer and fuzzier.

Did anyone doubt?

He is amazing and lets be honest, when he practiced yesterday i knew.

Here’s hoping he really helps the powerplay and takes some attention away from Kovy/Fish

He is amazing

But let’s not fool ourselves into thinking he’s going to fix all our problems in one game. The PP is the work of five guys, not one.

And the PP has been pathetic all year even with Alfie in the lineup, so I’m not expecting much of a turnaround

Cannot play with 'em, cannot win with 'em, cannot coach with 'em. Cant do it.

I am keen to see how the tandem of Campoli/Karlsson does for a second straight game.

I was thoroughly impressed with them during the Rangers game and hopefully CCC has found something here.

Awesome that my new man-crush is back between the pipes, gonna destroy the habs.

Also, Alfie is my hero.

BWAHAHAHA! Kuba demoted!

I love that Kuba was screwing up Karlsson’s development with weak play, so he’s demoted to play with Carkner, and is no longer a part of our top offensive D unit.

Awesome.

Let us all now now our heads and thank our deity Alfredsson for his gallant and early return.
May he being jump and eloquence to our beloved team. Rejoice in His return and give thanks.

Hahahaha... rec'd

Awesome. I sure hope he brings eloquence to our team… although we don’t really need it until Michalek comes back in the lineup.
