Leclaire concussed, out at least a week
Pascal Leclaire's freak injury in yesterday's practice, where he took a Mike Fisher shot to the head (yet again), is worse than initially expected. Leclaire has been diagnosed with a concussion, meaning he'll be out for at least a week.
Mike Brodeur, who posted a shutout yesterday in only his second NHL start, will split time with Brian Elliott in net during Leclaire's absence. No word yet on who will start the next couple of games, but one has to imagine Brodeur will get at least one more start given his surprisingly strong play in his tremendously small sample size.
In other injury news, Daniel Alfredsson was skating at practice today and apparently looked great out there. Coach Cory Clouston said both Alfie and Filip Kuba will be gametime decisions for tomorrow night's bout with the Montreal Canadiens.

So…that three times in half a season that Leclaire has missed time due to getting a puck to the face, one of which while he was sitting on the bench. Seems weird.

Didn't he get hit in the face with a puck while on the bench (again) recently and not miss any games?

As I understand, the initial hit may have given him a concussion, and this made it worse
It’s like how big players are supposed to take hits, but Ryan Shannon could give Eric Lindros a concussion right now if they were head-to-head.
Heck, even Filip Kuba could give Lindros a concussion.

I hope that's not the case
Concussions are no laughing matter and if he’s already vunerable to symptoms so soon, he came back too early.
I think they didn’t diagnose the concussion the first time, so when he blacked out this time, they’re being extra cautious. The fact that Leclaire was playing relatively poorly makes it easy (-ier, at least) to take him out of the lineup for as long as necessary.
On the other hand, maybe we can blame post-concussion symptoms for his mental mistakes between these two injuries.

I guess Leclaire thinks he is Jacques Plante.

Maybe this explains why he's been awful ever since coming back.
One of the primary symptoms of lingering concussion syndrome is blurred or double vision.
Brodeur gets the start
Looks like N.M. Brodeur is getting his second consecutive start tonight…

This is his chance
He could make some decisions very hard for Clouston and Murray if he plays well for this week.
