I wonder if any Brodeur jerseys have been sold yet. The last few days have been all about Ottawa’s goaltending failures and the goalie graveyard moniker, and I think it’s fantastic that this guy has been able to come out of the AHL and win. He’s stood opposite Niklas Backstrom and won. Then he faced off tonight against Henrik Lundqvist and wins again. It’s kind of unprecedented in Ottawa. Elliott came up last year, but he’d been a prospect for a few years. Brodeur’s a complete surprise.
I keep forgetting his last name is Brodeur. He’s always going to be Not Martin to me.

Well, he’s out of nowhere for the Senators, but he had a hell of a season in the AHL last year, too. After Elliott came up to the NHL and couldn’t go to the All-Star Game, Brodeur got to go.

Must be a dream come true for him. He’s been lucky in both starts and the team has played really well around him both times, but hot damn, he must be having a ball tonight.

Good to see Mike
5 days ago my daughter and i stood in the freezing cold outside the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester and talked to Mike for a few minutes. He’s always been a great player and an even better person to meet in person. He stopped to talk to us, after a Binghamton suffered a terrible loss to Rochester, and signed some autographs for my daughter. He deserves the shot a starter, he’s got mad skills and the type of physical play and durability this Sens team needs. His stats in Binghamton aren’t that great because, frankly, they’re defense and play style stink. It’s tough to post great numbers in goal when you get peppered with shots like its target practice. Last year, when Mike was here in Rochester, he single handedly saved a team from absolute humiliation by being fantastic in goal for a last place team. The Sens should put him net for awhile and let him play out this season before all is lost.
