Silver Nuggets: Schubert to Waivers, Smith to AHL, Lehner Gets Nickname

• Christoph Schubert has been placed on waivers, and Zach Smith has been assigned to Binghamton. I'd be lying if I said either of those was a surprise. Hopefully someone picks up Schubert so that Eug doesn't have to pay him  he can continue to play. (Twitter)
• In case you didn't realize it, that means that Matt Carkner is still kicking around on the roster. Pretty impressive for a guy that nobody suspected would be anywhere near the final round of cuts.
• Goaltending prospect Robin Lehner is 2-0 with the Soo Greyhounds, and has already earned a nickname: Real Estate. The coach says it's because he's "big as a house," while Leafs fans insist it is a reference to the current housing market. (Slam)
• The Senators spent the weekend at an RCMP training facility in order to help the rookies learn team building skills and to teach Chris Neil self-defence in case Milan Lucic comes after him again. (Citizen)
