PrintSo this chapter has finally come to a close. Gone are Dany Heatley and a 5th rounder; coming are Milan Michalek, Jonathan Cheechoo, and a 2nd rounder. It's surprising to see Cheechoo in there given our previous reluctance to take him on, but even so, my initial response is positive, if only because I didn't really consider Dany a Sen anymore.
Michalek comes in at $4.3m a year for the next five years. Cheechoo's at $3m the next two.

Murray Caves in.
This is a shocking trade, another question mark 2nd liner in Michalek at 4.3 mill a year, and injury prone Cheechoo who we never wanted at 3 mill. And 2nd round instead of 1st!!!!!!!
No Money sent back, so Heatley gets 4 Mill pay out and a trade he wanted. Murray really has shit the bed here instead of holding onto a forward who needs to prove his worth for the olympics playing alongside Spezza who is desperate to get into the olympics.
No 2nd line Ctr, that was supposed to be always in the trade, if things dont start well this season…Murray is done….BRUTAL TRADE.
