So the prevailing thought is that, at some point, the Senators will have to cut their losses and perhaps make an inferior deal (to Edmonton's offer) that Heatley would find acceptable, just to rid themselves of their problem. That, though, presumes that the Senators' ownership and management are more concerned about practicality than revenge or making an example of Heatley.
Either way, it's likely to get ugly.

Jeez, what now?
Get nowhere near equal value for the guy and pay him $4M to screw the team as he leaves or try to force him to play someplace he doesn’t want to be and potentially destroy team chemistry? I don’t envy Murray’s choices here.
Coo roo "coo coo"
ooooooooooooo the great Bob Mackenzie says that Heatley cannot play for the Sens any more. Guess the Sens need to throw away a $50 million contract for one of the best pure scorers in the league. I mean forget the fact that Heatley actually could play for the Sens for the next few years and score 40-50 goals a season, Bob Mackenzie said otherwise so it must be so.
Shouldn’t Bob be frying up back bacon on a Coleman stove playing beer hunter somewhere?
I wonder how someone with a brain so tiny can continue to work for Sportsnet.ca anymore. No it is impossible. I mean it is such a foolish comment that reflects so badly on the Sportsnet team, he must go. The other editorial writers look so bad by association. He must go.
Derrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
Bob McKenzie works for TSN
And is one of the league’s most respected media personalities, working for one of the league’s most respected television partners.
