Mock draft: Who should Ottawa select?

Many of you have likely seen that SBNation's first-annual mock-draft extravaganza has begun, and are anxiously awaiting word as to what we here at Silver Seven, your Ottawa Senators stand-ins, will select with Ottawa's ninth-overall selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. While it's obviously dependent on which players are selected with the first eight choices, we can still have some fun with it. So, from this list of players ranked at or around the Senators' ninth overall selection, who would your choice be for the Ottawa Senators?

who should we draft?

I think we should take Zack Kassian with our 9th pick, a big winger and we need some depth on the wing if were gonna lose Heatley. If he gets taken (i could see the laffs taking him) then we should go with Jared Cowen. A big defensive defensive Dman who would go great with Karlsson. We need someone big incase we do lose Neil. If they’re both gone then just take the best player available

I’d prefer Jared Cowen over all those guys, and there’s a small chance he might slip to #9.

Good question, I can't get enough of draft coverage

Our biggest holes that remain are number 1 defenceman and an elite scorer. So with that being said, I like OEL, Cowen or Schroeder at 9, provided someone like MPS doesn’t have a big slip.

Don't forget Kulikov

He apparently is an excellent offensive defenceman, but also very solid in his own end. OEL probably has higher potential, but he is a bit more of a project.
