Game 66: Sens v. Bolts
Tampa Bay Lightning at Ottawa Senators, Mar 11, 2009 7:00 PM EDT
The Battle of the 1992-93 Expansion Teams! What an epic battle tonight will be. I don't know how to hype this game. It's on TSN, at least, so we should all be able to watch it (at least those of us in Canada; sorry, Seattle contingent but you can likely find it online).
And according to the Ottawa Sun, neither Chris Neil nor Filip Kuba will be ready to play tonight. It was thought that Neil might return from his injury, but not tonight, and Kuba's still got the flu.
In-game discussion starts... well, pre-game can start now, in-game at 7:00 p.m. EST!

Damn only getting CBC.
They never have anything on worth watching except fantastic Olympic coverage and 22 minutes. And sometimes hockey. And curling! And some other stuff.
Don't look for Olympics on CBC in 2010
CBC lost the bid, so CTV/TSN are getting it, instead. But hey, at least CBC Sports has some Raptors games now…

Amazing that he's 10-4-3.
I don’t know why he takes so much shit.

Touché
I’m hoping he doesn’t get shipped off. Bingo would be better because he’d get plenty of ice time, but I don’t know why he’d want to do that after a half year in the NHL. I don’t know how good two seasons as backup will be for him, though.
Although I guess Leclaire could just get injured over and over again… maybe not that unlikely.

Good pass from Giggles on the assist
plus one for Alfie.
Yep.
Double minor + 10min misconduct I believe.
Correction, it might not have been a double minor for that.
There were 2 penalties called for roughing ruutu, but they were apparently called on two different players, but both served by Arty, who also got the game misconduct.
What's wrong with this Artyukhin guy?
Must have had a bad day. He sure doesn’t look like a fighter; no facial scars, nose a lot prettier than Donovan’s…

"Sneaky little shot from Spezza"
Damn those sneaky whittled sticks!
Wow... were there two consecutive powerplays through which we didn't get a shot.

13 seconds to be exact.
Almost as long as some other activities…
At least our goal was short-handed.
I love those.
Hay guys
Late to the thread. Everyone knows how to watch this game online that doesn’t have coverage, right?
Also, I can’t believe Kelly scored
Doesn't "Arrive alive" seem a bit redundant?

I'm glad this blog didn't exist for Chris Phillips' own goal vs the Ducks

The aftermath would have been funny.
But it’s not like you would have live-commented it.

The part where you paid off Phillips before the game
was really unneeded.
I remember chanting "GO SENS GO GO SENS GO GO SENS G-" after Alfie's SHG like it was yesterday

As we drove home for the arena
the citizens of Anaheim was so gracious in victory. It was as if they hadn’t known it had happened.
They're currently out of the playoff picture!

Mine was 2004 game 7 against Toronto
So embarassing. Damn you, Nieuwendamodonwanyk (sp?).

Lazy sticks guys
Keep them moving on the defense!
Time to face that we have no chance at him.
We’re finishing 6th.
Shit I hope they eliminate Montreal.
I want a Senator to get a No Habs No letter. I’ve got big plans for it.

He's had a couple hits recently.
He likes Clouston. And wants Hilary Duff to introduce him to Hannah Montana.

Hey, lads
Good evening from wintry Palm Beach County. The northern part.
How it be going against the Bolts?
Way to just fall over, Brian.
That’s the quality defense I’ve come to expect.
He kind of tried to look innocent afterwards
that required some effort
Will the Sens turn into the modern day Lightning?
The same pattern is there for the Sens when looking at Tampa’s team the following years after their Cup appearance
All we need is Olaf Kolzig
9-5-3 under Clouston so far,
that’s a 96 point pace!
No penalty, yes, no, yes, maybe, no, yes!
Maybe just wait a few seconds, TSN?
And boards with pucks.
But not nets with pucks. Too cliché.

That music reminds me
that my time would’ve been better spent watching “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”
Or anything really

Honestly
It’s a fun sport to play. Don’t knock it until you try it
One of the few drinking sports left
Booked during Olympics yet?
How many people can sleep there?
Ah well.
Still, that’s a good deal. I may hit you up for that in the future. I like taking random trips up.
Hahaha,
that’s like the same price as a hostel! Holy shit! How many people can you fit in it?
Ah, that's too bad. 4 is the better group size.
Still though, $35 CAD split in half? That’s about $13 US per person
Pretty central location too
Friends fly in and stay all the time. They don’t even have to see me if they don’t want to
HAHA, I BET FISHER WILL GIVE HER A BETTER BIRTHDAY PRESENT LATER TONIGHT!!
amirite?!?!?!
Like a nice scented candle or something.
I imagine that point I'll spend my days complaining about kids today and their hip-hop music
while eating food through a tube
Looking back I wonder if that was Brian McGrattan

We probably won't make it
but it says a lot about their improvement that we’re even talking about it

With LeClaire instead of the Gerber/Auld mess next year and hopefully another D-man…
Winchester with 4 hits and a SOG in just 7 min of ice time.
Healtey, where were you tonight?
I just read the entire comment thread
And some of your comments/conversations are hilarious.
Why do we have to be playing so well now, when losing is in the club’s best long term interest? The hockey gods definitely hate us. Damn you Spezz and your unsafe hockey sticks! You brought this upon us!
