Wiercioch leaves World Junior camp with injury
Sens prospect Patrick Wiercioch will once again miss out on the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship. Last year he did not make the cut, and this year, a knee injury has forced him to leave the camp on the first day. The injury was suffered prior to camp.
Tyler Cuma of the Ottawa 67s will replace Wiercioch at camp. Coincidentally, Cuma also had to leave camp last year with an injury.

Brutal. I was hoping to at least hear how he’d compete for a spot on the team, even if he weren’t to make the team. Hopefully he bounces back when he returns from the injury for the end of the OHL season.
And hopefully Cowen is an absolute animal in the tournament.

I’ve watched Cuma a couple of time at the Civic Centre this season and it’s nice to see him finally get an opportunity to represent Canada. He’s a very talented defenceman that the Wild are going to be thrilled to have in their line-up.
Tough break for Wiercioch as you never like to see any young kid have his WJHC opportunity cut short due to injury. Better days are ahead for him but he must be a little unconsolable right now.
It's never about the eventual destination, but rather the long journey and its challenging obstacles that are presented and what it takes to overcome them, that makes the taste of success all the more worthwhile!!!
