Game 13: Ottawa Senators v. Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay Lightning at Ottawa Senators, Nov 5, 2009 7:30 PM EST
Finally, another hockey game! This schedule is boring now, and it's going to be overwhelming in the second half when we're playing every other night. You'd think the schedule could have been a bit more balanced... but bottom line is that we've got hockey to watch tonight.
The re-match of the re-match, and hopefully it's more like the original match (a 7-1 Senators victory) than the re-match (a 5-2 Lightning victory). Time will tell.
Darren's Take: Ah geez, the Lightning? Again? I feel I've already written about these teams too many times this season, but I suspect this game won't be a blowout (unlike the last two times they met). Ottawa's going to come out swinging with the addition of Jason Spezza, and in hopes to bust an absolutely horrible slump they've been in as of late. Also, keep an eye out for Jarkko Ruutu who seems to have Tampa Bay's number - 2 goals and 2 assists in the two games against the Lightning this season.
As always, the game thread will be open to your pre-, in-, and post-game banter.

I don’t know why you’d wish it was Sunday. If I could make a wish, I’d wish it was end-of-work Friday. Or Saturday. Sunday’s so bittersweet.

I’m going to miss the fun. Going out to grab food and then see David Bazan (if there are still tickets available).
Silver Seven: the Daniel Alfredsson of Ottawa Senators blogs.
I’m going to miss half of the fun, but I’ll see the other half. The second half, and hopefully the better half.

It's the Tampa announcers
THEY’re atrocious. Makes you appreciate Canadian feeds.

UGH
I can’t live like this, guys (ha! like there’s anyone here…) I’m off to the sports bar. Peter, I’ll be a little late due to the driving time.
Come January rookies are just going to ask to be scratched when they play us

I don't think Hedman likes playing in Ottawa much
Remember how Volchenkov laid him out? And now Chris Neil? Ouch.

HOW IS THAT POSSESSION?!?!
Bullshit. Ottawa should be winning 3-2 right now.

And before anyone says anything, no, the Lightning players did not stop moving assuming the play was dead

They didn't think it was at all!
Such a bogus call. Stupid Kerry Fraser and his quick whistle.

Good work by Kovalev
Turned the puck over and fought along the boards with just his skates. Solid.

Nice on Spezza.
Good time to score your first of the year.

I was going to say, it must be beyond my understanding, as well…

He's referring to the Lawyer sign
Clouston is snapping his fingers going like “ah, damn, we got you now.” It is also a sign to steal third.
The concealed Poppy on his suit jacket is a sign of Remembrance. Lest we forget.
The green bottle has a letter on it. It is also the letter that is partially noticed on the Sens sign behind him.
The fan can also probably half shout and get that message on her sign across to the team without the sign.
The Sign was a song by Ace of Base. Don’t knock them until you see them live.
The empty seat beside the person with the sign is from the poster Wassim on here who left the game early. (see most recent post).
