Silver Nuggets: Donovan out eight weeks, Cheechoo down to fourth line
Not much news today, but here's a quick rundown of the Ottawa Senators shizznit:
- With Shean Donovan's injury (more below), Peter Regin and Jesse Winchester will both draw in to the lineup. Lines are lining up like so: Michalek-Spezza-Alfredsson; Foligno-Fisher-Shannon; Ruutu-Kelly-Neil; Cheechoo-Regin-Winchester. (Twitter)
- The prediction panel is on again tonight, and it's surprisingly optimistic; only one dude (Russel, from Sens Underground) picked the Buffalo Sabres to win. (Citizen)
- Back to Donovan's injury, he had an MRI which 'reviled' MCL and maybe ACL damage on his knee. Apparently eight weeks is an optimistic estimate of time he'll miss, but I guess with the Olympic break he could be back for the second half. (TSN)
- The ever-heroic Donovan spoke about the Matt Cooke hit that caused the knee injury, and didn't sound like he was too upset with Cooke. (Senators, on mp3)
- Binghamton lost 5-2 last night. Ouch. (Sharp on the Sens)

Funny… I like Cheechoo-Regin-Winchester better than I like Ruutu-Kelly-Neil. And Cheechoo’s reward for pizza is a demotion?

I guess so...
It’s probably more like 3A and 3B, I guess. And Cheechoo often gets some pretty prime powerplay time, assuming the Senators get any powerplays.

I don’t know, I kind of feel that Ruutu-Kelly-Neil is our fourth line. Isn’t that how they started the year?

Yeah, I guess it is.
But it’s a heck of a fourth line.
