Silver Nuggets: Shannon Out, Donovan In, Kuba Possibly Out

Here's your collection of Senators-related stories from around the web. Join us tonight for the game-day thread!

  • Update: Bad news. Filip Kuba may be out tonight with a lower body injury. Clouston says it'll be a game time decision. If he's out, Alex Picard will lace up. (Citizen)
  • Update: The newest SB Nation NHL rankings are up. The Senators are ranked 15th in the East. That's just sad. (SB Nation)
  • Ryan Shannon is out for tonight's game with an upper body injury, and Shean Donovan is in. Second line is Foligno-Fisher-Kovalev.
  • Cory Clouston with a stunning revelation - Jason Spezza has to work on not turning over the puck. (Citizen)
  • Our buddies at Pension Plan Puppets are reporting that the MONSTER himself, Jonas Gustavsson, will be starting in net for the Leafs. Let's hope the Sens don't make him look too good out there. (PPP)
  • Alex Kovalev is confident that the Senators' poor play on Saturday can be attributed to shaking the rust off, and that everything should "fall into place soon." Hopefully soon means tonight. (Slam)
  • Even though they all got Saturday's game wrong, the Ottawa Citizen prediction panel (featuring Peter!) is back at it, offering their guesses at tonight's score. Far less homerrific than Saturday's panel, this panel is split: three pick Sens to win, three pick the Leafs. (Citizen)
  • The 6th Sens declares the Battle of Ontario has been dead for years. (6th Sens)
  • Wayne Scanlan of the Citizen seems to have come to a similar conclusion (Citizen)
  • Sens Army recaps the successful opening night live blog, which featured more than 275 users and far too many Pascal Leclaire/Chuck Norris comparisons. (Sens Army

KUBA! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That’s a lot of minutes that other guys are going to have to swallow. And I wonder who Karlsson might play with now…

That’s exactly it. His injury is made far, far worse because he’s Karlsson’s mentor/partner on the ice, and I’m not sure who else is capable of that role. Break up Philchenkov and play Erik with Phillips?

We can’t break up Phillips and Volchenkov against the goon squad the Leafs are icing. Karlsson will just have to make due with another partner.
