Silver Nuggets: Volchenkov out three weeks, Elliott starts again

Not too many headlines today, because I'm a bit short on time:

We already know Anton Volchenkov is out for tonight's game with an elbow injury, but it looks like he could be out more than three weeks. Ouch. (National Post)
Goalie Pascal Leclaire won't play tonight because of the flu, so Brian Elliott gets a chance in back-to-back games. (Sens Twitter)
Prediction panel for tonight: I predicted the unthinkable (again). (Citizen)
Centre/winger Jesse Winchester is... enjoying?... his time in the AHL? Well, two points (1G, 1A) in two games probably goes a long way there. (Press & Sun Bulletin)
UPDATE: I know you're all looking forward to the Subway Super Series, in which Canada's best young (under 19) players face off against their peers from Russia, and I have good news: Sens prospect Jared Cowen has made Team WHL. (OurSportsCentral)
UPDATE: Erik Karlsson got to Binghamton today, and he'll be wearing number 15 for the B-Sens. I wonder if he'll pick up that number when he comes back to Ottawa; it's not like anyone else wears it anymore. (Sharp on the Sens)

Good article on Winchester. Glad to see he is very accepting of his AHL conditioning stint, and he sounds like a great team player.

Winnie’s awesome. He was really looking good in the latter stages of last season, I’m excited to see him back in Ottawa’s lineup whenever he gets back up here.

Man, what terrible luck – the one semester I’m out of Victoria and Cowen comes to town! And somehow he does not come to play in Vancouver in the four months I’m here.
