The Ottawa Senators and Salavat Yulaev Ufa of Russia's KHL have agreed to a deal that allows Ilya Zubov to spend the rest of the season back in Russia.

Zubov was drafted 98th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Senators, but had expressed interest in leaving the club after failing to make the NHL squad in late September. It seems very unlikely that he will return to the Senators organization next season.

Well, that wasn’t a surprise. But it’s too bad, I think the winless-in-four Binghamton Senators could have used his scoring support.
