Silver Nuggets: Regin or Winchester could play, McGrattan's putting up his points

It's gameday again, with the Ottawa Senators in Montreal tonight to play the Canadiens. Here's a look at some Sens-related news from around the Web:

  • Either or both of Peter Regin and Jesse Winchester could be ready to play tonight against the Habs, but it's unclear who might sit if they draw in. (Citizen)
  • Predictions for tonight's game are, once again, resoundingly pro-Ottawa. (Citizen)
  • Game story: Alex Kovalev's return to Montreal. (Sun, National Post)
  • Speaking of which, Robert over at the SB Nation Habs blog likens Kovalev's comeback to Guy Lafleur's return to the Montreal Forum so many years ago. (Habs Eyes on the Prize)
  • Looks like Milan Michalek's girlfriend, who's from Montreal, and her whole family will be at tonight's game. I can't wait to see how he'll top Thursday night's hat-trick performance. (Citizen)

Star-divide

  • Nice story about Nick Foligno and the ways he honours his mother Janis, who passed away last summer. (Sudbury Star)
  • Brian McGrattan's awesome. I'm not looking forward to when he comes to Ottawa, but I am happy for his early-season success--including last night's Gordie Howe hat trick. (Hockey Capital)
  • The Binghamton Senators have hit a rough patch: Three consecutive losses, including last night's 6-3 decision against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. (Press & Sun Bulletin)

I hope the team is not as overconfident as the predicters are. This is a classic trap game: humiliated in their home opener, riding a 4-game losing streak vs. an opponent coming off a dominating win over a cupcake team.

Make no mistake, Montreal is going to be UP for this game, and if the Sens can’t match their intensity, things could get ugly. I’m nervous about this one, boys. This is exactly the kind of game Ottawa has dropped in the past. A win tonight should give the team (and me) a lot of confidence.

Agreed whole-heartedly. The Habs do not want to lose their first two games at home, and will have a lot of motivation tonight. I certainly hope the Sens don’t look past them.

Are you as pumped as I am?

At least as pumped as you are. No Habs No!

You’re very much right.
