Derek Grant Named CCHA Rookie of the Week
Often-ignored Ottawa Senators prospect Derek Grant, currently playing for Michigan State, was named the Central Collegiate Hockey Association Rookie of the Week after putting up two goals and two assists in two games. Though Grant is a freshman, he's been skating on the team's top forward line.
Grant was drafted by the Sens in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Ignored or forgotten, whatever… Drafted fourth round, 119 overall in 2008. It’s later-round picks like that which make or break a team’s depth, so it’d be nice if that offence is something we should get used to.

I think forgotten is a better word, actually. Mostly because he was in the BCHL, the league nobody really knows about (if you’re not, y’know, here in BC).

bingo update
erik condra looks great out out notre dame so far. he sort of reminds me of kris letang of the penguins. not the head head honcho on the PP, but complements our top offensive blue liners nicely (bannister and yes, lee as well). my comparison obviously being to letang and Gonchar in Pitt.
and offensively, since i’m already talking about binghamton, Danis “Denny” Hamel is off to his best start in years. 4gp 5p

Yeah, that's awesome.
I think Mayor Hamel is recharged by the dynamic offensive players he’s been given to play with, like St. Pierre. As for Condra, good to hear he’s fitting in well. I don’t think you guys should get too used to Brian Lee, though… I’m pretty sure it’s only a matter of time.
